How to Choose the Best Cell Phone Plan

February 16th, 2010

Karen Kirby asked:

Back in the olden days, telephones were for talking to people who were far away from you. The most exciting decision a telephone shopper made when choosing a new telephone was what color to get it in. Fortunately for us, we live in a time when a telephone is so much more than a telephone.

However, choosing a brand of cell phone and a service provider can be frustrating and confusing. Even if you know exactly what you want, shopping for cellular phone plans can be a headache.

If you’re signing a contract for a year or more, usually two years if you want the good phone, you want to be sure that you’re getting something that you’re going to be happy with. Each cell phone service provider promises the best coverage, the most features, or the latest technology.

If “family plan” sounds more like a birth control method, and rollover makes you think of dog training, take a few minutes to sit up and read up on how to get the best cellular phone plans for what you really need.

Make sure you don’t get caught short on minutes. When in doubt, choose more minutes than you think you will use and find a plan that allows you to rollover unused minutes. People are often surprised at how quickly they use up their allotted minutes. You don’t want to find yourself with nasty charges for those extra minutes you didn’t think you would use. Cell phone deals are so common that there’s no reason to pay full price for your cell phone.

Do cellular phones often leave you speechless? Don’t you just **** it when you’re halfway through an interesting conversation and the connection goes fuzzy or drops altogether? Maybe you’re driving in your car and you’ve gone through a tunnel or just moved your cell phone antenna out of range. How do you figure out which cellular phone plan won’t leave you hanging? Here’s another question to research when choosing a cell phone plan.

And then, there’s national or local cellular phone plan? If you feel overwhelmed by the myriad of cell phone plans out there, you aren’t alone. There’s so much to consider in your cellular phone comparisons, including whether to go with a national or local service provider, which of the cell phone plans is going to give you the best service, and then there’s the fine print. Just thinking about wading through all that is enough to give many people a headache.

If you are confused or don’t know where to start, you’re not alone. To start with, get a list of the major manufacturers and service providers to get you started in your research.

Cellular phones are for people on the go. People on the go don’t have a lot of time to visit several electronics stores making cell phone comparisons for features and prices. That’s why shopping online for cell phones makes so much sense.

By looking at the Internet, calling the cellular phone manufacturers and service providers and even checking with your employer, you can be sure to get a good deal on your cell phone.

It’s been a long time since cellular phones were a symbol of an extravagant lifestyle. Because of the great cheap deals constantly cropping up online, you can be sure that you can find a cell phone that fits your needs and your budget.

Use Blackberry and Windows Mobile Phones to Conduct Business Anywhere, Any Time

November 24th, 2009

Jeff Spires asked:

As the old saying goes “Cash may be king” but in reality it is your communications structure that can really make or break your business. From small “work from home” Mums, right through to online retailers and big money multi nationals, communications technology continues to transform how we do business. “If you should fall behind in the latest technology and advances in mobile communication technology – you definitely are risking losing any competitive edge,” says Richard Scott of BusinessMobiles.com which provides low-cost call plans, mobile devices and training to Businesses in the UK. “If you need convincing then just look at how innovations back in history have impacted how businesses today operate in the marketplace.” Within the 4 years of the invention of the telephone in 1876, over 48,000 telephones phones were in use. Compare this to the Fax which predated the invention of the telephone by nearly 20 years… but didn’t really catch on until the 1970. Yet today many businesses seal deals with faxed documents. Add to this that fact the we now have the internet and having a website is now considered essential.

“At the end of the day – people want technologies that offer us cost-savings and convenience,” Scott notes. “More than often a an emerging technology won’t be picked up until it meets those requirements. The Blackberry is an example of this trend.” When 3G first emerged it was invested in heavily by the Mobile Networks but it failed to fly. Now everyone wants a Blackberry due to its fantastic Business uses. The ability to receive email on the go, use Instant Messaging, attach documents and run third party software allows Doctors to record billable hours, lawyers, etc. “The Blackberry is basically a PC that fits into your hand” Says Scott. “It’s so popular in the USA with Business people and celebrities alike it’s become known as the Crackberry – it’s really that addictive.”

Then with devices like the Windows Mobile Platform you can now edit, send and create Word Documents, Excel Spreadsheets, etc all on your mobile phone.
